Litigation Associate Attorney (Products Liability & Transportation)

LeClairRyan is currently seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney in Hartford, Connecticut who will contribute to overall success and help secure the bright future of the Firm.

Our Hartford, Connecticut office is located on One Financial Plaza in the “Gold Building” and was established in 2008. Currently our Harford location is home to five litigation attorneys who have received recent acclaim for their performance in the legal industry both in Connecticut and nationwide. Practice areas represented in our Hartford office range from commercial, construction, bankruptcy and creditors’’ rights, premise liability, products liability, and personal injury defense.

As we expand our legal presence in the “Insurance Capital of the World” we are looking to add a new litigation associate attorney to our Hartford team handling personal injury defense matters.  The associate will work closely with Partners whose practice focuses on the defense of civil litigation matters with an emphasis on products liability and toxic tort handling all facets of litigation from inception through trial.  The responsibilities of the individual include handling the preparation of pleadings, researching, drafting and opposing motions related to pleadings and discovery, appearing at court conferences, review/summarize discovery responses, preparation of discovery responses and objections and attending depositions.

Required Skills

  • 2 – 3 years of personal injury defense experience.
  • Superior communication and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional analytical and writing skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Confidence to work directly with clients and colleagues in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong academic and professional credentials.
  • Connecticut Federal and State bar admissions required. Admission(s) to bars of surrounding states is a plus.
